Take one photograph...

As you see, there is furniture in this room. We will have to
manipulate the design to place the furniture in front of the window
dressings. The photo would have been better taken 'straight on' but we'll try to work with it...
So, what do we have?
Double patio doors to garden - outwards opening.
What will be staying?
The Black Leather Sofa and Chair will stay along with the TV but we'll be looking to change the TV Unit. The flooring is new and a walnut wood. The walls need to be decorated. We will put together some paint and paper options for those once we've agreed on the fabrics. It's always easier to decorate a room to compliment fabrics than be limited in fabric choices by freshly painted walls that 'just don't work' with the lovely fabrics you've found.
What should be considered?
Our client wants a room that she can relax in on a daily basis but also use to entertain. She likes luxurious things but doesn't want her room to look over fussy. She will use the patio doors during the summer to give her access to the garden space. The doors are not in direct sunlight so we can think of using silks to great effect. The doors open into the garden which is great! Had they opened into the room, we would have had to be careful about the doors opening onto the curtains each time the doors were used.
Teddy is new to computerised designing, so please be patient while he gets his teeth into it!

For this treatment we suggest using a double pole, dress curtains to the front and working curtains to the back, with the dress curtains in a dramatic cut velvet with a silver grey silk dupion for the working curtains. Silver greys will sit well with the black leather suite and walnut floor. This will give a modern, luxurious look to the wall in our view but before we put our final design to you we take a look at the effect other fabrics and colourways would give.
As this is a computerised program, the options it gives are many fold. The design can be mocked up on a photograph of the actual room. This way, you get to see how the design will look in your own space before you've had to spend on poles, fabrics or making up! It really does help to take the worry out of the process!

We can add or remove trims and tie backs, use any style of pole you'd
like to see, change the headings, use different fabrics from any of the
thousands available to view on line to give you the chance to 'try
before you buy'!
We'll take a look at changing the paint colours on walls and adding a few items of furniture soon... or as soon as Teddy, our web master, gets his paws into it... Please follow the link below to see a simple design 'happening'.
